I've failed so far in raising Scottish bluebells from seed, I must try again.
I'd also like to join a Trees for Life group to plant Scots Pine at Glen Affric.

Reforesting the Glens of Scotland
My modest target is to plant 100 trees a year in Scotland. I've failed so far in raising Scottish bluebells from seed, I must try again. I'd also like to join a Trees for Life group to plant Scots Pine at Glen Affric.

View Reforesting the Glens of Scotland in a larger map In March 2014, this website was established. I've recently been helping to design a website, but it's a lot more work when you have to design and build it yourself for the first time - what a load of work for 6 wee pages! In March 2014, an e-book was published to support the charity Reforesting the Glens of Scotland. This is the culmination of over 40 years of research, beginning when I found an out-of-print book in Glasgow University library on "Memorials of the Scottish Family Glen". It finally reached print in 1995, but it has taken me till 2014 to get an e-book and website published. I hope it furthers your interest in the subject, gives you a few ideas to pursue, and saves you many hours of research! A copy can be obtained here. 2 March 2014. Police have named the man who died in a car crash near Waterside at the weekend as 54-year-old Gerard Lewis, from Darvel. Around half-past three on Sunday afternoon, his car was involved in a head-on collision. Gerry was a great environmentalist, who helped me substantially to start a reforesting project in my native village, and I feel his loss greatly. He will be missed by all who were privileged to know him. |
