A proper wee forest doing well at the allotment, but suffering in the heat and lack of rain. Even the hawthorns were wilting, but revived when given a good hosing from the tap.
Similarly at Hillend, hauled 32 litres (64 kg, 140lb) of water up the hill to give the new trees a wee drink, badly needed. Only 1 tree protector removed, but a few of the mauled trees might not make it.
Most of last year's planting are OK.
A beautiful day on the hill.
