Re-homed some blackthorn that were self-seeding naturally, to complete a shelter belt at the entrance to the market garden at Lauriston Farm.
A well-attended meeting of people interested in helping set up the orchard.
14 people attended. Group looked at site of the orchard - to think about considerations such as exposure, traffic of people and dogs, protection that will be needed etc. Suggestions of other orchards to visit:

15 walnuts planted - the first in the orchard, soon to be followed by apple, pear, cherry and plum.
It's in an open access area, so can be harvested by the local community - it'll be a while before they're this size! |
